From French speech to French subtitles.
Caption a French-language video without changing its language. Vid2Subs creates a timed French draft that you can correct before sharing.
Choose French when you know the recording.
Upload a supported short video or audio file with speech in French. In the setup screen, leave Spoken language on Auto-detect or select French to guide recognition, then choose your font and animation. The studio transcribes the audio and places a timed caption draft over the video.
This is speech-to-text in the same language: French audio produces French subtitle text. The French option does not translate English speech into French. If the recording switches languages, review each passage carefully; one chosen language applies to the whole transcription.
Check accents, names, and short words.
Play the video and compare every line with what the speaker actually says. Check accented letters such as é, è, ê, and ç, contractions and apostrophes, proper names, and words obscured by background music. Edit any mistaken caption directly in the timeline.
Move or resize a cue if it appears before the speaker starts or lingers after the phrase ends. A line break that matches a natural pause is easier to read than a long caption that covers two thoughts. Follow the timing guide for a more careful review.
Pick the format that fits the destination.
Export SRT when you need a separate French subtitle track for another editor or a platform that accepts captions. Export a captioned MP4 on supported browsers when the French text should stay visible in the picture. Preview the chosen font with accented characters and inspect the finished file before publishing.
Need Spanish captions from Spanish audio, or another spoken language? Read the Spanish subtitle guide or the multilingual workflow. The same studio can transcribe each recording in its spoken language.
